⚡️ Electrical FAQ's.

Q: Are there any government grants for workplace EV charging points?

A:The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a grant that businesses can use to reduce the cost of installing electric vehicle charge points for their staff by up to £14,000.

The WCS grant is capped at £350 per chargepoint socket up to a maximum 40 sockets per applicant business.

It's available to any business, charity, public authority, or small accommodation business with some conditions.

The grant is provided by the government's Office for Zero-Emission Vehicles (OZEV).

Q: How do I apply for the Workplace Charging Scheme grant?

A:The best way to apply for the Workplace Charging Scheme grant is to apply online. Once you’ve done that, a voucher will be generated, which is valid for four months. Our team at Imperial Electrical will then complete the work and submit a claim on the WCS portal. They then receive a grant of up to 75%, to a maximum of £350.

Q: Does my business or staff have to have EVs to get the WCS grant?

A: No. You will be asked to declare either a need for electric vehicle charging infrastructure or an intention to encourage uptake amongst your staff and/or fleet.
